The Sea Spirit is a low volume sea kayak. The shape, based on the West Greenland style, is radical and intended to be paddled by experienced paddlers. While it is a seaworthy kayak, it is best used as a day tripper boat, and is not very appropriate for camping or expeditions.
The kayak tracks well, has excellent initial and secondary stability. The waterline is very low at the rear bulkhead and yet allows for ample foot room at the front bulkhead. The depth from keel to coaming rear is 6 1/4 inches while the depth from the keel to the coaming front is 10 5/8 inches. The rear deck is flat. These features allow the paddler to sit comfortably when upright and lay directly on to the back deck with ease while rolling and bracing.
